We Need Minerals?

Yes, we do.

Now, I am sure you are wondering, “Well, don’t I get enough minerals from the food I eat?” Chances are, you don’t (unless you are raw vegan who spends a decent amount of time ensuring that meals are balanced and provides proper nutrients.)

Since we often do not get the nutrients that we need through our food, where should we look? Vitamins? Yes! But not in the way that you think. Many vitamins that are easily accessible through the pharmacy and grocery store do not provide the nutrients that your body needs. Sure, it may be packed with the items but does your body absorb it? No.

What does absorption have to do with this? Glad you asked. In order for you to process and utilize minerals, your body must be able to absorb it. And with the way that most vitamins are made, your body will not absorb them. The mass majority are synthetically created which, in itself, does not do you any good. For example, folic acid has been pushed into our minds as something that we must have. In all actuality, you need folate, which is the natural form (more on that later).

Through my journey, I’ve learned what works and does not work. I know that the vitamins I tired before did not work. Not only that, it would make me sick. If your body is telling you something, listen. So I did. I went on the search for one that I can take daily that provides the vitamins and minerals that I need, that won’t make me sick, and that will be metabolized.

After some research, I came across Garden of Life. Garden of Life has a LOT of items that they offer but I was drawn to their RAW One multivitamin for women. Of course, you won’t know how it works until you try it so I decided to give it a trial run.

Although I have to take 4 a day rather than one, I like it! Plus, you get into a routine with taking multiple. Two in the morning/breakfast, two at lunch. RAW One did not make me sick, it doesn’t have to be taken with food, and it provides the minerals you need. In reference to the beginning of the post, it has folate. It is packed in a little veggie capsule for all my non-meat eaters out there. Additionally, it is a loose powder, so one could actually open it and add it to their smoothie, if they’d like. This shows that there isn’t anything binding the powder like one would find with other vitamins. AND for your tummy, it has enzymes and probiotics which is great!

And yes, they have a multivitamin for men and a prenatal one as well in addition to a ton of other things such as RAW protein (good stuff), probiotics and more. It is also organic and non-GMO.

I say all of this to say this, in order to be a Warrior functioning at our highest capacity, we must care for our health. We must be the champions for it and it all starts with the inside. Take care of yourself. Get your minerals and vitamins. Eat well. Exercise. Practice mindfulness.

To help on your journey, I share mine. And Garden of Life is now one of the things that I choose to utilize to provide the things that I may miss with meals.

I hope that this helps you and broadens your horizon of options. If you want to read more about Garden of Life products, visit their website – http://www.gardenoflife.com. Plus they are cool because they have free recipes listed there as well. Lastly, more information about the multivitamins for menwomen, and the littles (kids).

Happy mineral gathering, Warrior.
