WHOO! I mean this wholeheartedly. Do. Not. Hold. It. In.
What am I referring to, do you ask? Your emotions. Your frustrations. Your feelings. Your thoughts.
Repressed emotions, frustrations, feelings, and thoughts will come back full force. It will be in your dreams. In the middle of the day. During the most random and unwelcome time. Do not hold it in. Release it.
Release that energy. Release it and don’t look back. Now, when I say release it, I don’t mean in a wild way. Oftentimes, people give in to how they are feeling at the moment and make rash decisions that could have been better if channeled a different way. There are many ways to deal with what is going on.
You can take a walk and allow yourself to bask in the feeling of being outside and away from the source of how you feel or where you began to feel this way (e.g. feeling overwhelmed in the office and need to take a walk).
You can turn on some relaxing music, close your eyes, and let it envelope you in a serene manner.
You can decide to exercise to channel the energy into a productive and beneficial manner.
You can talk to someone that you trust who will listen to you. Someone who would give advice, a new perspective, and/or just be there for you.
You can create a new masterpiece; be it artwork, a poem, a story, cuisine, dessert, DIY projects, hairstyle, organizer, etc.
You can help someone who is in need of a friendly smile, hand, meal, or word of encouragement.
You can write it down.
You can read a book.
You can take a relaxing shower or bath.
You can redirect your thoughts to the positive.
You can think of your favorite place (e.g. tropical beach or in the mountains) and mentally transport there.
You can do it.
But whatever you do, do not hold it in. Do not allow these emotions, frustrations, feelings, and thoughts to take over you. They shall not win. All of these things can stem from a moment, a day, or a many things continuously happening. Just remember that it will be all right and that your energy is everything.
We are all human. We are all Warriors. We are not perfect in every moment. This is what builds us and makes us stronger.
Just breathe. Let it go. Peace in the mind. Peace in the heart. Peace in the body. Peace in the soul.
