Wisdom Wednesday: Redirect Your Focus

Ah, life. You bring us much joy, memories, and opportunities to build our strength. At times, many of these things come full swing at one time. We are then left to decipher what will hold our attention or how we balance it all.
As we go about our lives, we are never without action and a need to act. Go to work. Prepare our meals. Take care of our families. Take care of ourselves. Pay bills. Visit loved ones. Prepare for the future. Deal with the now. So on and so forth.

But we must focus. Focus on the now and nothing else for a moment.

Think of how it is when you put on headphones to listen to music. Every thing around you gets silenced and all you hear is the music. That is your focus for those moments. Your brain and body is set on what you are listening to. Let what you are focusing on at the moment – your ‘thing’ – be your music.

Too often, we allow ourselves to be consumed by the many things that are asked of us. Too often we focus on what we are being asked to do and not ourselves.

Be in tune with yourself to recognize when you should redirect your focus. Listen to what your spirit is calling for. Your spirit may be calling for rest, meditation, a walk in nature, stepping back from commitments, re-evaluating what you’re putting your energy toward, volunteering for less, exercising more, addressing health issues, allotting time for hobbies, or whatever it is you are being led to do.

Be sure not to allow your current commitments to prevent you from hearing the voice within that will lead you. Maintain a clear focus and be flexible. Your needs will change. Be cognizant and prepared to go as your spirit calls for you to.

You got this, Warrior!

Continue to be determined. Understand that sometimes, your path will require you to make adjustments – be it time or method. But you will arrive.

Stay focused. You got this, Warrior!

Wisdom Wednesday: It’s Not You; It’s Your Journey

People are dropping like proverbial files. Those that you were close to before, you all somehow grew apart.

Things are changing. Your present is changing. You are changing. You are growing. You are continuing on your journey.

With every point in our life, we will be challenged in order to grow. There will be many points in our life when we feel a shift. The energy around and within us is preparing for grow. We take a new form. A new shape. You no longer fit into the mold of your former self.

October 27th, 2015.

The full moon is in Taurus. In the days of indigenous cultures and for farmers now, full moons are for harvesting. We can also harvest the energy and seeds that we planted in the Universe so far this year.

The Universe is overflowing with positive energy for us to use and abundantly put forth. The full moon is a way that we can bring it all together, regroup, and reap the positivity.

Wisdom Wednesday: You Want It? You Gotta Earn It.

Nothing in this life comes easy. N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

If anyone told you that it does, they are not your friend since they lied to you — and they are misguided.

Everything that we do will require work. It will require effort. It will require patience. It will require stamina. It will require faith.

Often, we get caught up in what we want to do and achieve and we forget that we have to work our way up to it. Some of the things that we think are off our path are actually preparing us for what we are to achieve. Think of it like the quizzes before the final exam. The quizzes are short bursts of knowledge testing that prepares our mind to succeed on the final exam.

Wisdom Wednesday: Don’t Hold It In!

WHOO! I mean this wholeheartedly. Do. Not. Hold. It. In.

What am I referring to, do you ask? Your emotions. Your frustrations. Your feelings. Your thoughts.

Repressed emotions, frustrations, feelings, and thoughts will come back full force. It will be in your dreams. In the middle of the day. During the most random and unwelcome time. Do not hold it in. Release it.

Release that energy. Release it and don’t look back. Now, when I say release it, I don’t mean in a wild way. Oftentimes, people give in to how they are feeling at the moment and make rash decisions that could have been better if channeled a different way. There are many ways to deal with what is going on.

You can take a walk and allow yourself to bask in the feeling of being outside and away from the source of how you feel or where you began to feel this way (e.g. feeling overwhelmed in the office and need to take a walk).

You can turn on some relaxing music, close your eyes, and let it envelope you in a serene manner.

You can decide to exercise to channel the energy into a productive and beneficial manner.

You can talk to someone that you trust who will listen to you. Someone who would give advice, a new perspective, and/or just be there for you.

You can create a new masterpiece; be it artwork, a poem, a story, cuisine, dessert, DIY projects, hairstyle, organizer, etc.

You can help someone who is in need of a friendly smile, hand, meal, or word of encouragement.

You can write it down.

You can read a book.

You can take a relaxing shower or bath.

You can redirect your thoughts to the positive.

You can think of your favorite place (e.g. tropical beach or in the mountains) and mentally transport there.

You. Can.

You can do it.

But whatever you do, do not hold it in. Do not allow these emotions, frustrations, feelings, and thoughts to take over you. They shall not win. All of these things can stem from a moment, a day, or a many things continuously happening. Just remember that it will be all right and that your energy is everything.

We are all human. We are all Warriors. We are not perfect in every moment. This is what builds us and makes us stronger.

Just breathe. Let it go. Peace in the mind. Peace in the heart. Peace in the body. Peace in the soul.

Peace to you, Warrior.

Wisdom Wednesday: Life Adjustments

As people, we all have our own unique, individual, and interesting journies through life.

And on our personal journey, people, experiences and moments are/were placed in our lives to grow us. Sometimes the growth is seemingly marginal, other times significant but it grows us, nonetheless. In this time, the growth is a wonderful experience and many, many times, there are growing pains. We have to make adjustments in our lives, whether it is desirable at that moment or not. Those adjustments may be working more, studying more, spending less (or more…think investment), getting quiet, removing ourselves from situations, befriending new people, unfriending old people, stepping out on faith, etc.

These moments really show us something. It shows strength. It shows resilience. It shows determination.

Have patience. Have faith. It’s frustrating. It’s painful. It’s beautiful. It’s glorious. But it makes you. Choose humility over bitterness. Choose peace over chaos. Our small choices make up the big picture.

Be prepared for greatness to come out of this. But realize, that all great people have had their fair amount of tribulations and lost plenty of people who were with them. But keep going. You deserve it. But true to you and one with the universe.

You got this, warrior.
