How many times have we focused solely on the things that we haven’t done “right” rather than the things we have done well? Why are we not quick to give ourselves credit? Credit for learning something new. Credit for jumping back on the proverbial horse after falling off. Credit for having the courage to do something when we were scared out of our minds. Credit for having the courage for facing the day when we feel like we want to stay in the bed forever. Credit for achieving our goals of eating better, going to bed at a decent time, moving more, reading more, writing in our journal, loving our body, loving ourselves, loving others…the list goes on! Celebrate yourselves, Warrior!
We must honor the Most High, the Universe and ourselves by allowing ourselves to connect and disconnect. We connect by grounding ourselves and being centered. We connect by opening our mind and heart to the Most High. We connect by aligning ourselves with the Universe. We connect by being one with ourselves. We connect by being an empty vessel waiting to be filled.
Happy day, Warriors! It is very easy for us to fall into a zone of comfort without working to do something outside of what we’re used to. We must grow, stretch, challenge ourselves and become better. Dedicate yourself to allowing yourself the opportunity to take risks and grow.
It’s Wisdom Wednesday! This message that I share with you all is something that I have learned and continue to learn. As Warriors, we must be gentle with ourselves. We must be nurturing, loving, patient, kind, and forgiving. This is imperative for our growth as well as healing.
I hope that this resonates with you and fellow Warriors. Thank you for listening!
This Wisdom Wednesday message will be short and sweet. Soon, a longer post or video will follow.
You are a top priority. You just take care of yourself. There is only one you.
Put yourself above all deadlines, all asks of you, all “obligations”, all responsibilities, all chores…everything.
You must come before any and everything. That very well may sound selfish but if you don’t care for yourself, you will soon find yourself sacrificing bits and pieces of you until there is nothing left.
There is so much going on in the world. So much going on nationally and locally (no matter where you live, really). That, in turn, often means that there is a lot going on within.
With constant exposure to the media outlets, social media, and those around you who discuss events, issues, etc., it become quite easy to absorb the energy of those things. It is also quite easy to absorb the energy of the people around you. They could just be sitting near you, actively having a discussion or sharing a story with you, or you witnessing their interactions with others. And how many times has our energy changed when something happened? Someone cut us off while driving. We missed a meeting. We’re running late. We forgot our lunch. Someone is ignoring your emails. The list goes on…
“The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.” -Ida B. Wells-Barnett
The is so much wisdom that can be found in the words and actions of foremothers. On this year’s International Women’s Day, it is imperative to take some time to channel the energy and spirit those who have come before us and who have made a direct impact on the world to make it better.
It is simple but is something that everyone can relate to.
The weak often lash out to protect themselves in some form or fashion. Oftentimes, in protecting themselves, they are often wounding others. Although this is experience isn’t something that is welcome or a ray of sunshine, let it roll off of you.
